Applying for Masters in MIS?
To pursue Masters in MIS, the qualifying criteria becomes very broad when compared to other degrees in technology or management. Some schools require you to have a degree in IT or management, but most don’t have any such restrictions. Such students, however, may have to take extra courses after joining the program.
Graduate level entry into international B-schools requires that you should have completed your bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Your academic performance is measured through your Grade Point Average (GPA) by most of the international business schools. Academic eligibility should be confirmed with the “Admission Committee” of your respective schools, and you should avoid taking advice from non-official channels.
Work experience certainly plays a positive role when it comes to getting admitted, but those of you who don’t have it, don’t need to worry too much. Most Schools don’t have any norm regarding compulsory work experience.
A good GRE or GMAT score is absolutely indispensable when it comes to getting admitted into a top school for an MIS program.
Language courses like TOEFL and IELTS are required by most top schools. TOEFL test scores are accepted in the USA. while IELTS is recognized by schools from many countries such as Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK.
