In India, the TOEFL iBT is available at authorized test centres more than 60 times a year, with the TOEFL iBT Home Edition available 24 hours a day, 4 days a week. Early registration also gives you time for thorough preparation, mock tests, and handling any unexpected issues before test day. Online registration through the ETS website is the primary and most convenient method for TOEFL iBT registration. Here is how to apply for TOEFL in India:

Step 1:Â Visit the official ETS TOEFL website at ets.org/toefl and click on "Register For Test" to begin your TOEFL exam registration.
Step 2:Â Click on "Create Account" and enter your email address and password. If you already have an ETS account, log in directly. Make sure the name you use to create your account exactly matches the name on your passport including spelling. Any mismatch will result in denial of entry on test day with no refund.
Step 3:Â A prompt will appear offering a free beginner's guide from TOEFL. You can choose to download it or proceed directly.
Step 4:Â Choose your test option, a single test, or a bundle of 2 tests (available at a discount). Click "Register Now" to proceed.
Step 5:Â Enter your preferred test location (city or postal code) and click "Search."
Step 6:Â Set the Display filter to "All test options" to see both centre-based and Home Edition dates and times.
Step 7:Â Select your preferred date and choose your test format - test centre or Home Edition. Then choose your preferred time slot from available options.
Step 8:Â Confirm your selections and click "Save and Continue."
Step 9:Â Fill in your personal details. You can also designate up to 4 institutions to receive your official score reports for free, you can add, change, or delete these recipients until 10 PM local test centre time on the day before your test. After that, additional score reports carry a fee of INR 1,950 (USD 25) per institution. Select whether you want a paper copy of your score report (additional fee may apply). Click "Continue to Cart."
Step 10:Â A prompt may appear offering official ETS prep materials. Click "Add to Cart & Continue" to purchase, or "No Thanks" to proceed without.
Step 11:Â Review your order summary on the payment page and confirm the test date, location, and fee.
Step 12:Â Complete payment using your preferred method - credit card, debit card, UPI, or Bharat QR. Once payment is confirmed, you will receive a registration confirmation email with your test centre address, date, and time. Save this confirmation as you will need it on test day.
