The University of Winnipeg Professional, Applied and Continuing Education was officially started in 1967 at Winnipeg, Canada. It now offers more than 600 courses which include full-time, part-time, flexible online courses, and training. The university focuses on increasing the employability of the students by offering quality education.

Residing Options

The University of Winnipeg provides on-campus housing options to students. For students living alone, it offers furnished dorms in McFeetors Hall and single rooms in Balmoral Houses inside the campus. It also offers furnished and unfurnished apartments for families and couples. There is also a downtown hostel run inside the McFeetors Hall student residence.

The hostel provides single-room and double-room options which are either private suites or shared services suites. The hostel also has fully private high-class VIP suites.  The hostel rates range from $68 per night to $103 per night. The hall of residence fees is around $4300 per term, and the Balmoral House ranges around $2300. The rates differ based on the meal plan and the options chosen. Diversity Food Services offer various meal plans and options for the students to choose from.

Financial Aid

The University of Winnipeg’s Awards & Financial Aid Office deals with financial aid applications. It also offers help to the students to get information about the choices available and their eligibility criteria and associated deadlines. The university offered nearly $4.7 million in scholarships and bursaries in the year 2017-2018 to assist the education of the students. They offer bursaries to students based on their financial needs and scholarships based on their academic achievement. The awards are offered taking both aspects into account.

Sir William Stephenson Scholarship and Dr. & Mrs. Roderick Hunter Scholarship are awarded to students who exhibit high academic achievement, leadership qualities, and involvement in extracurricular activities. Research & Volunteerism Awards are for students undertaking research projects in the community or the campus. Graduate and Professional Studies Expenses Bursaries are awarded for the current students applying for Graduate or Professional Studies at the University.

The University of Winnipeg’s campus is located in Downtown and is easily accessible by public transport services. The location provides a high standard of living at a low cost with great facilities like shopping and entertainment at Osborne Village, Corydon, the Exchange, and Winnipeg's French quarter.

There are limited parking spaces on the campus. There is a separate bike parking system that provides lockable bike racks. This promotes cycling as a sustainable option for students. The university is the Downtown's Rapid Transit Terminus. Buses from 56 routes go through the terminus, and hence, there is high public transport connectivity.
