The RIT campus is located near Genesee River, a few miles away from the city of Rochester. The University campus is spread across 1300 acres and has more than 250 buildings. Students studying at RIT fondly refer to it as the “brick city”, owing to the fact that most buildings have a typical “brick-building” exterior. Students studying here have access to ‘Wallace’ – a huge library which has books of all subjects.
RIT offers its students on-campus accommodation, at $6,500 per year, and has a total of 13 dorms in its huge campus. Most graduate students, however, choose to stay off-campus as it offers them greater privacy and freedom. Popular off-campus accommodation areas for students are Erie station, Rustic village, and Park Point. Students opting for off-campus accommodation end up paying between $700 and $1,200 every month.
RIT professors are not only extremely knowledgeable but also very friendly. As such, they are easily approachable and thus students are quite satisfied with the faculty of RIT.

As mentioned earlier, RIT is a private University. However, this does not mean that it does not provide scholarships and financial aid. On the contrary, students are provided with many scholarships and grants when they take admission. Meritorious students get approximately $8,000 per semester as financial aid at RIT. They can also take up Teaching Assistantships and Research Fellowships to support themselves financially.
