Aerospace

The Department of Aerospace Engineering is a student-centered department committed to providing engineering and aviation science programs with world-class education and research. The department offers comprehensive programmes in both undergraduate and graduate studies. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering as well as a combined B.S./M.S. in Aerospace Engineering.

For graduate studies, the department offers:

After completing 30 credit hours, the Master of Science degree is awarded. Specific requirements may differ depending on whether a student is pursuing a thesis or non-thesis option, but all learners are required to take a final comprehensive examination. If a student is interested in Ph.D., then he/she should complete a Ph.D. dissertation and get it approved by the committee.

Chemical Engineering Department

The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering offers graduate and undergraduate programs in Chemical Engineering. The Bachelor of Science program in Chemical Engineering combined B.S./M.S. in Chemical Engineering, and integrated Bachelor of Science (B.S.)/Master of Science in Systems Engineering (MSSE) program are the programs offered by the department.

The department is well-equipped to conduct graduate studies in aerosol science, fluid mechanics, molecular modeling, polymer reaction engineering, protein engineering, system research, and thermodynamics. It offers graduate programs like Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering, M.Eng. in Chemical Engineering, and Ph.D. in Chemical engineering.

Its Ph.D. program combines basic and advanced training, original research, and professional training. Research and teaching in the department are deeply interdisciplinary and focused on solving some of the most challenging issues in the world. Civil and Environmental Engineering 

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering was  founded in 1908. The main objective of the department is to give rise to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education and also foster advanced research which improves the quality of life and environment. The department has incurred more than $24.8 million in research expenditures in 2016. It also boasts of 27.5 tenure-track faculty, eight-core research areas, eight leading research institutes and centers, two National Academies members.

Computer Science Department

At the University of Maryland, College Park, the College of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences (CMNS) offers graduate, Master's degree (with or without thesis) and doctoral degrees. Electrical / Electronic Department

In James Clark School of Engineering, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers Bachelors, Masters degree (with or without a thesis), Ph.D. programmes in Electrical Engineering.

Environmental Engineering

Environmental Engineering is a part of the University of Maryland's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The Department of Material Science and Engineering of A James Clark School of Engineering offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees. It incorporates engineering, physics, and chemistry and utilizes these disciplines in nanotechnology, biotechnology, data technology, power and production to address real-world issues. The undergraduate program in Materials Science and Engineering provides engineering education with a strong emphasis on the fundamental properties and structure of materials.

The graduate programmes - M.S., M.Eng. and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (P.B.C.) in Material Sciences and Engineering - offer opportunities to work with faculty and industry on complex issues through projects, internships, and research. Mechanical

Mechanical engineering programs offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering provide students with the tools to broaden their understanding of the basics of this growing field while introducing them to modern technologies. Leaders in robotic control, advanced vehicle technologies, energy systems form a part of the faculty. Also, students have access to state-of-the-art research facilities. The department offers a B.S in Mechanical Engineering and a combined B.S./M.S. programme in Mechanical Engineering.

For graduate programmes, the department offers M.S., M.Eng. and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (P.B.C.) programmes in Mechanical Engineering. Students selecting the master's programmes need to be skilled in traditional mechanical engineering fundamentals such as solid and fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, transfer procedures, materials engineering, electronic instrumentation and measurements, controls, and layout.

Furthermore, through a multitude of electives such as intelligent constructions, electronic packaging, data systems, Lean Six Sigma, reliability, and nanoelectromechanical systems, they will also investigate new/emerging regions in the field. In addition to the requirements of coursework, Ph.D. candidates must pass a qualifying examination and present a research proposal. In defense of their dissertation, all Ph.D. students must pass an oral examination administered by a committee of graduate faculty members.

Pure Science
