A public University, The University of Virginia was established in 1819. Also called UVA, the University of Virginia is considered to be one of the most respected public universities in the country.

Nestled away in Charlottesville, the University of Virginia is a public research university. Situated along the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the UVA campus offers a unique educational experience with a visually pleasing setting. The main campus is widely known for its Jeffersonian architecture. It has extensive terraced green spaces surrounded by academic buildings.

Charlottesville is accessible using the Charlottesville-Albemarle airport which is around 9 miles away from the main campus. The Amtrak station at W. Main street is 1.5 miles away from the campus.
