The second oldest university in Australia, University of Melbourne, has been home to thousands of students since 1853. It is located in Parkville, Melbourne, with a lot of other campuses across Victoria.  The university has a beautiful campus, located right in the centre of the city. Hence, the students get access to the various flavours of life. It also has many libraries spread around the campus, and all of them are renowned. The student clubs are involved in a wide range of interests. The exchange program is also supposed to be praiseworthy.

The university has a total of 7 campuses including the main campus. The oldest campus is located in Parkville. A part of Melbourne’s creative arts project, the Southbank campus, houses the Victorian College of Arts. The Dookie Campus, established in 1886, holds the center for agricultural teaching and learning. The Shepparton Campus is a part of the University’s Medical School, and the Werribee campus is a part of the Melbourne Veterinary School. Besides these, they also have campus established in Burnley and Creswick.

The Parkville campus is of 36 hectares and has 5 libraries -

The university is also home to a lot of museums and galleries. The Grainger Museum is famous for being the only purpose built autobiographical museum in Australia.

The University of Melbourne offers a range of accommodation options to choose from: 

303 Royal Parade - This is an apartment under the university, where you can have your own private room. It includes other facilities like gymnasium, common areas, barbeque, basketball court, a games room, a music room, and a lot more. The prices range from $410 to $480 per person, per week.   

University apartments - These are located pretty close to the campus and include a kitchen, a bathroom and laundry facilities. You also gain easy access to the University’s libraries, study areas, etc. It costs $380 for Single occupancy and $460 for double occupancy. 

UniLodge at Lincoln House - This residence brings to you proper and affordable dorm rooms. It includes facilities like meeting lounges, shared kitchens and dining spaces, laundry facilities, a sports lounge and gymnasium. A few more worth mentioning features are two landscaped courtyards, main common lounge with terrace and a beautiful sky lounge with BBQ facilities.

Standard dormitory costs $308 per week for 52 weeks, and $332 per week for 48 weeks. And Ensuite dormitory costs $340 per week for 52 weeks, and $366 per week for 48 weeks.
