Graduation Record Examination, more commonly known as the GRE, is a standard assessment test conducted by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) for admission in top universities. Bachelor’s degree graduates and undergraduate students from more than 160 countries take the GREs every year. In India, it is $213, roughly around INR 16K. While there is a price difference in the General Test GRE exam fees, the GRE fees for the Subject Test is fixed at $150 from July 2020. The overall GRE cost includes score review fee, rescheduling fee, score reinstatement fee, and additional score reports fee.

The GRE exam Fees Reduction program is an attempt on the part of ETS to reduce the GRE registration fees by 50%(without fee reduction, it’s $100). It also includes free access to study materials.
Even with the best preparation for the GRE, there is always a chance of failure. But that doesn’t mean, you don’t have another shot at it. The GRE retake option is available at a cost of $50. This fee is in addition to the GRE exam fee.
A student may not be able to take the exam on the day of the examination. There can be various reasons for it, and thus ETS provides the option of rescheduling the exam by paying a fee of $50. It is one of the costs which may factor in if you are assessing the overall cost of the GRE exam.
GRE special handling request is an additional fee in lieu of additional services being provided. It is an extra amount paid independent of the GRE form fees. The special Handling request charges are mentioned in the GRE subject fee.
