Deakin University Intakes and Deadlines

A trimester system gives Deakin a real edge for students who miss the main window elsewhere - Trimester 1 (March) carries the broadest course list, but Trimester 2 (July) and Trimester 3 (November) follow only a few months apart with most popular programs still open. Deakin doesn't enforce one hard cutoff; instead it publishes recommended deadlines and keeps applications open until courses fill, which rewards applying early both for a seat and for scholarship consideration, since most awards run first-come, first-served.

Intakes Deadline

Trimester 1 (March 2027)

Broadest course list across all faculties; recommended to apply well ahead, as 2026 Trimester 1 has already closed

Trimester 2 (July 2026/27)

Recommended application deadline around 10 April 2026 (2026 cycle); strong course availability

Trimester 3 (November 2026/27)

Recommended application deadline around 30 August 2026 (2026 cycle); limited course options, rarely used for undergraduate entry

Scholarship timing

Most Deakin scholarships are awarded first-come, first-served - applying early materially improves your chances
