Payment Structure

Waterloo charges tuition one term (four months) at a time, not as a single annual lump sum, with fees due before the start of each term. International students are automatically enrolled in UHIP and pay compulsory incidental fees on top of tuition. Bills appear on the Quest student portal roughly a month before each term begins, and fees must be arranged to register. Co-op students do not pay tuition during their paid work terms, which helps offset overall costs.

Net Fee After Scholarship

Waterloo automatically grants a CAD 10,000 International Student Entrance Scholarship to eligible first-year international students, with larger faculty-specific awards available. Combined with co-op earnings, this can meaningfully reduce the real cost of a Waterloo degree.
