University of Technology Sydney offers two main intakes each year: Autumn and Spring. Most undergraduate and postgraduate programs follow these intake periods, while research degrees may allow additional flexibility depending on the faculty and project.

University of Technology Sydney Entry Requirements
Undergraduate Programs:

For undergraduate admission, UTS requires a recognised matriculation qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12 (or equivalent international qualification).

International applicants must meet UTS’s English-language proficiency standards e.g. IELTS (Academic) 7.5 overall (with higher sub-band requirements) or equivalent TOEFL / PTE scores.

Most UTS courses require IELTS 6.5 overall, with no band lower than 6.0.

Some competitive programs (e.g., education, health, engineering) may require IELTS 7.0+, depending on course demands.

UTS Vice‑Chancellor’s International Undergraduate Scholarship

100% of tuition fees for the standard duration of the approved undergraduate (Bachelor) course.

Must be applying to UTS for the first time.

Must achieve an overall score equivalent to an Australian ATAR of 85% or above, or its recognised international equivalent.
UTS STUDY ABROAD EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

Provides a $1,000 tuition contribution for eligible study abroad students.

The scholarship is awarded for one academic session.

Open to future international students enrolling in 24 credit points as part of a study abroad program in the Autumn or Spring session.
