Yale University Application Process

Step 1: Prepare Your Application Documents

When applying to Yale University for MD and MD/PhD programs, it's important to gather strong letters of recommendation (LOR). Ideally, you should get a Premedical Committee letter if your school offers one. If not, you need at least three individual recommendation letters. These should be from people who can speak knowledgeably about your skills, achievements, and personal qualities.

Step 2: Submit Additional Required Documents

Make sure you have complete official transcripts from all colleges you have attended. These transcripts should be sent directly from the colleges to AMCAS.

Your Yale Supplemental Application must be submitted online by November 15. You will also need an evaluation from your Premedical Advisory Committee or three individual letters from your instructors, with at least two being from science fields. Make sure these evaluations are sent to the Office of Admissions using the AMCAS Letter Service.

In addition, you must submit your Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) scores along with your AMCAS application. Don’t forget to include your English Language Proficiency (ELP) scores if applicable.
