How to Apply to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

Step 1: Prepare Your Documents

Letters of Recommendation (LOR): You need to provide two recommendation letters from your teachers. Ideally, one should be from a math or science teacher, and the other from a humanities, social science, or language teacher. However, this is not a strict rule.

• Describe a way you've contributed to your community. (200–250 words)
• Tell us about a big challenge you faced or something that didn’t go as planned. How did you handle it? (200–250 words)

• February Updates & Notes Form

Step 4: Pay the Application Fee

The application fee is $75 USD (approximately INR 6.32 thousand). You can pay using a credit card. MIT also offers a Monthly Payment Plan, allowing you to pay your term bill over five monthly payments instead of all at once. There is a $35 enrollment fee per term for this option.

Step 5: Keep Track of Application Deadlines
