    12th Grade

    Applicants must have completed high school with a minimum of 50%. They should have the following high school courses: 4 years of native language, 3 years of mathematics (including algebra, geometry, and advanced algebra), 3 years of science (with 2 years in biology, chemistry, or physics), and 2 years of social studies (3 years for those applying to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences). For majors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Engineering, 2 years of a single foreign language is required (English can be used if it is not the native language). The minimum academic requirement is a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, which is equivalent to 50%. Specific requirements for different boards are: India School Certificate: 6 out of 9, CBSE/CCE: B2, National Institute for Open Schooling SSSE: 61 out of 100 or D on a scale of A-I. Admission may be based on transcripts from the last three years of high school and other required documents. Applicants must provide final official transcripts showing completion of high school and Board Exam results for classes X and XII before enrolling at Iowa State University.
