The Engineering program at East Carolina University offers three concentrations: biomedical engineering, bioprocess engineering, and industrial/systems engineering. These concentrations have been part of the program since it started.
Additionally, three other concentrations have been introduced based on requests from our industry partners: electrical engineering, environmental engineering, and mechanical engineering.
Students join the program as first-term freshmen. In their senior year, all students complete a Capstone Design Project, which allows them to apply what they have learned throughout their studies.

Students must have graduated from high school and completed specific courses. They need 4 units in English, focusing on grammar, composition, and literature. They also require 4 units in Mathematics, including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and an advanced math course. For Natural Sciences, 3 units are needed, which must include a life or biological science, a physical science, and a lab science. In Social Studies, 2 units are required, with one being U.S. History. Finally, 2 units of a foreign language, which is not English, are necessary.
