The program focuses on designing computers, computational processes, and how information is transferred and changed.

Students will create and analyze software for various applications, such as networks, graphics, artificial intelligence, and database systems.

The program allows students to specialize in either Software Engineering (SE) or Information Assurance (IA).

Graduates will have the skills to analyze and solve difficult technical problems from a wide view of computer science, considering business, social, and regulatory factors.

After finishing the program, students can work as Computer Network Administrators, Database Administrators (DBA), Information Security Analysts, or Information Technology Managers.

12th Grade

To be admitted to Arizona State University (ASU), first-year students must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 (equivalent to a "B" or better on a 4.00 scale) from secondary school. They must have completed three years of high school coursework. If they are still in high school, ASU requires grades from 9 to 11. If they have finished high school, ASU needs grades from 10 to 12. Students must also show a completed high school diploma or certificate. For international students, the following competency requirements must be met: four years of math (including algebra I, geometry, algebra II, and a course that requires algebra II), and three years of laboratory science (one year each in biology, chemistry, earth science, integrated sciences, or physics). The course requirements include: 4 years of math, 4 years of English (non-ESL/ELL), 3 years of lab sciences (1 year each from the accepted science areas), 2 years of social sciences (including 1 year of American history), 2 years of the same second language, and 1 year of fine arts or career and technical education. Additionally, students need to be in the top 25% of their high school graduating class or have a 3.00 GPA in their competency courses.

A minimum score of 79 out of 120 is required on the TOEFL exam.
