12th Grade

To be accepted at Arizona State University (ASU), first-year students need to have a 3.00 GPA (which is a 'B' or better, where 'A' equals 4.00) from their secondary school. They must also have completed three years of high school coursework. If they are still in high school, ASU needs to see grades from 9th to 11th. If they have finished high school, ASU needs to see grades from 10th to 12th. Students must present a completed high school diploma or certificate. International students who finished high school outside the U.S. must meet certain requirements: Math - four years (including algebra I, geometry, algebra II, and one course that needs algebra II as a prerequisite); Laboratory science - three years total (one year each from biology, chemistry, earth science, integrated sciences, or physics). Additionally, applicants need to have the following coursework: 4 years of math, 4 years of English (not ESL/ELL courses), 3 years of lab sciences (one year each from biology, chemistry, earth science, integrated sciences, or physics), 2 years of social sciences (including one year of American history), 2 years of the same second language, and 1 year of fine arts or 1 year of career and technical education. Lastly, to be accepted, students need to be in the top 25% of their high school graduating class or have a 3.00 GPA in their required courses.
